SPRING 2024 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!

What is the Spring season?

The Santa Clara PAL Softball spring season is always an exciting time to play softball with our softball community.  It is easily our most popular season and a great opportunity for players to continue to build on their skills and experience.  While there is significant focus on fundamental skills, the season remains competitively fun and includes interleague games with nearby leagues for our most divisions.

Who is eligible?

We offer rec softball for all ages from Sparkles for 4-5 Year Olds, 6 and under, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We at Santa Clara PAL Softball believe that everyone should have an opportunity to play softball, regardless of financial status.  If you need financial assistance in order to participate in the league, please complete our scholarship application below. Please allow at least 2 weeks prior to registration deadline for scholarship approval.

Playing Up a Division

If you would like your player to play up a division due to competitive reasons, please select that option during the registration process.  You will be presented an extra page during the registration to complete.  The Santa Clara PAL Softball Board will make the final division determination after the player evaluation clinics in January.

*Note - If playing up a division results in a higher cost, you will be charged for the cost of the higher division at the time of registration.  If the request to play up is not accepted you will be refunded the difference.

Playing with Friends/Siblings

By default all siblings in the same division will be placed on the same team.  If you would prefer siblings to be on separate teams, please email us at info@scpalsoftball.com immediately after registration.

Friend Requests are handled differently at each division:

  • 6U - Teams are primarily formed by friend requests and school attendance.  You will have the opportunity to make these requests during registration.
  • 8U - Teams are primarily formed based on our evaluation clinics in January to create balanced rosters.  Each player may indicate one friend request during registration that must be mutal.
  • 10U and Up - Friend requests are not taken in these divisions.  Balanced teams are formed after the evaluation clinics in January.  *Exception - If a player is brand new to softball in these divisions they may email info@scpalsoftball.com to request ONE friend request.*

EQUIPMENT

Each player is expected to provide their own batting helmet (with facemask/cage), glove, fielding mask, and bat.  Softball cleats are highly suggested.

We do have a limited supply of donated equipment available to our families and will have a few Equipment Swap days where you can see what we have available from other Santa Clara PAL families.

We will also share a coupon from a sporting goods store closer to the start of the season for your pre-season purchasing needs!
